Glass for building a modern/contemporary table? - contemporary glass computer desk

I want to create a table / is modern contemporary, the glass and the base. I can not justify paying hundreds of dollars for something so simple. Ideas? I want a round glass table, strange as the kidneys or the egg. Where can I get just the glass? This is a kind of plastic, I could be so good? Ideas and suggestions would be appreciated.
